There are places I have never seen
And songs I've not yet heard
Feelings to feel and hearts to steal
Someday I'll see the world
So many things I've not yet done
Unchecked boxes on my list
Of tasks I must complete before
My opportunity is missed
Someday I'll be a superstar!
The world will know my name
I'll never have a moment free,
Due to all my fame.
A supermodel? A movie star?
Soon I'll have it all
The biggest successes, the prettiest dresses
My portraits hung on walls.

002 - A Forbidden Affair
So lightly dressed in vinaigrette
A salad waits for me.
No carbonated sugared drinks,
but a steaming cup of tea.
No saturated fats found here,
No extra carbs in sight.
"Dinner, I give my heart to you.
I'm only yours tonight."
But how can I resist that dish
Of delicious ice cream cake?
It doesn't have to be longterm,
just one small bite I'll take.
And soon, before I even know,
One bite turns into ten.
Mistake after mistake--oh, God--
It's happening again.
Oh, what possessed my soul when I
Had promised long ago
To love my dinner? Oh, I'm a sinner;
Commitment haunts me so.
What happened to the moments that we shared?
I've lost the only proof you ever cared.
In flashbacks, recollections, tarnished dreams,
what's left of me is splitting at the seams.
To love you? Not to love you? What to do
when feelings my own heart will misconstrue?
And yet, you've changed, but haven't changed at all.
I cling to you; my heart you still enthrall.
Addicted, I've been craving from the start
the glass from which my lips may never part.
If hoping hearts lend lovers one more try,
I'll wait for you until all hope runs dry.
